About the Creator

  • My name is Jamie Zerr, and I am the owner of Hippo Hearts and Crafts. I learned to crochet when I was 15. I didn't really find my passion for the fiber arts until I was 26, after I had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. I needed something to do to keep busy after I had my surgery. I've been hooked since then.
  • It's been my dream for quite some time to open a yarn store, where I also can sell my labors of love. I don't have a physical store yet, but you can find me with my crocheted makes at certain craft fairs and local events.
  • My husband, Kyle, is my biggest supporter. From helping me at events to weaving in ends on projects, he helps me every step of the way.
  • My favorite things to make are stuffed animals made from super soft, chunky yarn.
